Areas of Expertise

Counselling

Individual Counselling includes the application of a variety of tools and techniques dependent on the needs of each client. This includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT); Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT); Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. 

Group Counselling is also offered for such topics as Stress-Coping Skills; Mindfulness & Body-Centred Therapy; CBT; Post-Addiction Treatment Support; and other topics based on clients' needs.

Work with Couples will often include approaches from Emotional-Focused Therapy (EFT) and The Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy.

Expressive Arts Therapy

With a certification in Expressive Arts Therapy (Winnipeg Holistic Arts Therapy Institute - WHEAT), I enjoy engaging clients in a variety of expressive arts modalities that support the therapeutic process through Visual Arts; Body/Movement Expression; Music; Narrative/Story-Writing; Photography or other arts-centred practices initiated by clients. Expressive Arts Therapy is effective for treating PTSD; Trauma; Anxiety; Depression, Eating Disorders; Addictions, and Social Challenges. Group Facilitation

Group Facilitation Workshops are offered on a variety of topics for groups & organizations, such as Wellness/Wellbeing Development; Mindfulness/Body-Centred Practices; and Educator, Professional, or Leadership Development. The Circles of Trust process founded by Parker Palmer & The Center for Courage & Renewal, as well as creative, hands-on approaches are often utilized in an effort to bring the "whole" client to the learning or healing process.

 

Post-Treatment Addiction Support Group Sessions using an infusion of approaches such as Trauma-Informed and Gender-Based12-step programs (Stephanie Covington Model) , Expressive-Arts, and Mindfulness/Yoga Informed practices, are also available. My Approach

I whole-heartedly believe in the wisdom and power that resides in each human being, and I am dedicated to working with clients to help unleash these and other resources to reduce suffering and increase wellness/wellbeing. 

Working from a strength-based, client-centred approach, each client can expect to be treated with the upmost respect and dignity in a non-judgemental and compassionate therapeutic environment.
